The overview

What owners are dealing with

You chose the Honda Accord Hybrid because it promised the best of both worlds: the refined, spacious Accord cabin you trusted, now with a sophisticated two-motor e:HEV system that delivers class-leading fuel economy without a plug. Honda said the LFB1 Atkinson 2.0-liter and dual electric motors would give you seamless, quiet power — a car that practically drove itself into the future. Instead, thousands of 2023-2025 Accord Hybrid owners have found themselves pulled over on the shoulder of a freeway, all their warning lights blazing, the accelerator pedal suddenly and completely dead.

That terrifying moment — powertrain, brake-system, ADAS, and lane-departure warnings erupting simultaneously while the car stops responding — is the signature event of a defect Honda eventually acknowledged in Recall 25V785000: the Integrated Control Module CPU resets while driving and kills drive power. But owners who reported the same catastrophic event in 2023 and 2024 were often told the dealer 'could not replicate' the issue, given a software update, and sent home — only for it to happen again weeks or months later.

The Accord Hybrid's issues don't stop at the ICM. The 2024 model generated NHTSA's highest steering-complaint count of any Accord Hybrid model year on record: 21 complaints in the STEERING category alone, with owners describing rack-and-pinion clicking and popping that began within the first 1,500 miles — and, in multiple cases, recurred after the rack was replaced under warranty. The e:HEV system's gas-engine engagement shudders in ways Honda dealers routinely attribute to 'normal hybrid operation.' The Google Built-In infotainment freezes, CarPlay drops, and backup cameras go blank. Honda Sensing brakes hard for obstacles that aren't there.

None of this makes the Accord Hybrid a bad car on paper. But it does mean that a meaningful number of owners are spending far more time at the dealership than they expected — and California law has something to say about that.

e-CVT Manufacturing Defect / Loss of Drive Power — Recall 23V588000 (2023)Safety2023
Symptoms

transmission shifts unexpectedly; hesitation; harsh shift; transmission warning

Why it matters for your claim

The e-CVT manufacturing defect in Recall 23V588000 causes loss of drive power — a safety-related nonconformity that can strand the vehicle or reduce speed unexpectedly at highway speed. Under Song-Beverly, owners who brought their 2023 Accord Hybrid to the dealer for this powertrain symptom before the recall was announced, and who received failed or incomplete repairs, may count those pre-recall visits as repair attempts. If the e-CVT was replaced and the vehicle later exhibited related powertrain symptoms, each subsequent visit is an additional attempt.

Typical fix

Dealers will replace the electronic continuously variable transmission (e-CVT), free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed October 11, 2023. Owners may contact Honda customer service at 1-888-234-2138. Honda's numbers for this recall are NFG and HFF.

Seat Belt Pretensioner Missing Rivet — Recall 23V782000 (2023-2024)Safety2023-2024
Symptoms

driver seat cushion loose; seat fastener recall; seat may not stay secured

Why it matters for your claim

Recall 23V782000 addresses a missing rivet in the seat belt pretensioner quick connector that can cause the pretensioner to separate in a crash, eliminating crash-energy absorption. This is a federal safety standard violation (FMVSS). Owners who took their vehicle to the dealer for this recall and experienced additional warranty issues — or whose vehicles spent excessive time awaiting recall parts — may use those out-of-service days toward the Song-Beverly 30-day threshold, even if each individual visit was for a different defect.

Typical fix

Dealers will inspect and replace the seat belt pretensioner assemblies as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed January 8, 2024. Owners may contact Honda customer service at 1-888-234-2138. Honda's numbers for this recall are MG7 and NG5.

Low-Pressure Fuel Pump Failure / Stall Risk — Recall 23V858000 (2023, LPFP Module)Safety2023
Symptoms

engine stalls while driving; vehicle will not start; loss of power; fuel pump recall

Why it matters for your claim

Recall 23V858000 is an expansion of the long-running Honda fuel pump campaign (21V-215, 20V-314) covering the low-pressure fuel pump module that can fail and cause engine stall while driving. An engine stall at speed — without prior warning — is a safety-critical event. Owners whose 2023 Accord Hybrid stalled before or during the recall remedy period, and who visited the dealer for that symptom, have documented repair attempts that may be counted toward Song-Beverly eligibility. Recall parts shortages documented by other owners (ODI 11641814, 11644717) further support out-of-service day claims.

Typical fix

Dealers will replace the fuel pump module, free of charge. Owner letters were mailed September 6, 2024. Owners may contact Honda customer service at 1-888-234-2138. Honda's numbers for this recall are KGC and KGD. This recall is an expansion of NHTSA recall numbers 21V-215 and 20V-314.

High-Pressure Fuel Pump Crack / Fuel Leak — Recall 24V763000 (2023-2024)Safety2023-2024
Symptoms

engine stalls while driving; vehicle will not start; loss of power; fuel pump recall

Why it matters for your claim

Recall 24V763000 addresses a high-pressure fuel pump that can crack and leak fuel — creating a fire risk. This is a Catastrophic-adjacent defect, but because no fire has been confirmed as a direct consequence in the 2023-2024 Accord Hybrid specifically, the correct bin is Safety. Owners who have had multiple visits for fuel system symptoms (hesitation, odor, stall) and experienced extended waits for backordered parts (extensively documented in NHTSA complaints ODI 11629200, 11634652, 11641814, 11644717) should document cumulative out-of-service days, which count independently of attempt thresholds under Song-Beverly.

Typical fix

Dealers will inspect and replace the high-pressure fuel pump as necessary, free of charge. Owner letters were mailed February 20, 2025. Owners may contact Honda customer service at 1-888-234-2138. Honda's number for this recall is PJW.

Driver's Seat Cushion Frame Not Tightened — Recall 24V859000 (2023-2024)Safety2023-2024
Symptoms

driver seat cushion loose; seat fastener recall; seat may not stay secured

Why it matters for your claim

Recall 24V859000 covers an improperly tightened driver's seat cushion frame that can result in a loose seat, impairing the driver's ability to maintain consistent control. Owners whose Accord Hybrid seat moved or felt unstable and who visited the dealer for that symptom have documented a safety-related warranty repair attempt. If the seat cushion frame was replaced under this recall and the issue recurred — or if the owner subsequently experienced a separate seat or safety-system issue — the recall repair history supports a Song-Beverly claim timeline.

Typical fix

Dealers will replace the driver's seat cushion frame, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed January 6, 2025. Owners may contact Honda customer service at 1-888-234-2138.

Electric Propulsion Cable / Power Loss RiskSafety2023-2025
Symptoms

EV propulsion warning; power loss; high-voltage cable recall

Why it matters for your claim

Recall 25V785000 is the most significant defect in the 11th-generation Accord Hybrid: the ICM CPU resets while driving, causing sudden and complete loss of drive power on any road or speed. This is the defect owners most frequently reported before the recall was announced — dozens of NHTSA complaints (ODI 11663058, 11670239, 11651235, 11629643 and many others) describe identical multi-warning-light events followed by loss of acceleration. Owners who visited dealers for this symptom before November 2025 and received 'cannot duplicate' or software-update responses have documented pre-recall repair attempts that count under Song-Beverly. Three or more visits for the same power-loss pattern within the warranty period likely satisfies the statutory presumption.

Typical fix

Dealers will reprogram the ICM CPU software, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed January 6, 2026. Owners may contact Honda's customer service at 1-888-234-2138. Honda's number for this recall is TN2. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall will be searchable

Driver's Seat Cushion Frame Loose — Recall 26V054000 Expansion (2023)Safety2023
Symptoms

driver seat cushion loose; seat fastener recall; seat may not stay secured

Why it matters for your claim

Recall 26V054000 is a 2026 expansion of the earlier seat frame recall (24V859000), specifically capturing additional 2023 Accord Hybrid VINs that were missed in the initial campaign. Owners who were excluded from the first recall but experienced the same loose seat symptom during the intervening period — and who made dealer visits for it — have documented warranty repair attempts during that gap. The multi-recall pattern (iss-05 and iss-07 covering overlapping years) demonstrates Honda's repeated failure to correctly scope the defect population, which is relevant to Song-Beverly claims because it shows Honda had notice of the defect and failed to remedy it promptly.

Typical fix

Dealers will replace the driver's seat cushion frame, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed March 10, 2026. Owners may contact Honda's customer service at 1-888-234-2138. Honda's numbers for this recall are ONC, KND, BNE and ZNF. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in thi

Tires:Temporary/Emergency Spare Tire RecallSafety2023-2025
Symptoms

warning light; recall notice; repeated dealer repair

Why it matters for your claim

Recall 26V366000 addresses a tire repair kit sealant bottle that can pressurize and eject its cap during use, creating a risk of injury to anyone deploying the kit roadside. While the risk is situational (requires use of the kit), the recall is relevant to Song-Beverly lemon-law claims because it adds to the cumulative repair/recall history of the vehicle. Owners of the 2023-2025 Accord Hybrid who have experienced multiple recalls — including the more significant ICM (25V785000), fuel pump (24V763000), and seat frame (24V859000, 26V054000) campaigns — should present their complete recall repair history when evaluating eligibility, as California courts consider the totality of warranty repairs, not individual defects in isolation.

Typical fix

Dealers will replace the tire repair kit nozzle or sealant bottle, free of charge. Interim letters notifying owners of the safety risk are expected to be mailed July 27, 2026. Additional letters will be sent once the final remedy is available, anticipated in Fall 2026. Owners may contact Honda's cus

e:HEV Two-Motor System Harsh EV-to-Gas Engine Engagement — Shudder, Jerk, and Vibration at Low SpeedDrivability/Reliability2023-2025
Symptoms

engine shakes violently when gas motor turns on; jerking sensation when transitioning from EV mode to hybrid drive; lurching or stumbling at idle when ICE engages; rough vibration felt through seat and steering wheel during mode transitions; shudder when accelerating from stop on incline; dealer says normal hybrid behavior; shaking worsens in Sport mode when gas engine is called in under hard acceleration

Why it matters for your claim

Under Song-Beverly (Cal. Civ. Code §1793.2(d)), a defect that 'substantially impairs' use, value, or safety qualifies for buyback consideration. Owners who report harsh e:HEV transitions and are told by dealers it is 'normal hybrid operation' should document each visit on a repair order with the specific symptom described in owner-language. If the ICM recall software update (25V785000) is applied but the shudder recurs, each return visit for the same symptom counts as a repair attempt. Three or more dealer visits for the same powertrain shudder pattern within the express warranty period typically satisfies the Song-Beverly presumption.

Typical fix

PCM/ICM software update (TSB 25-017 / Recall 25V785000 remedy) reduces severity for ICM-related events. Persistent shudder after software update may require powertrain control calibration; Honda has not issued a separate TSB specifically for transition NVH independent of the ICM recall as of the access date.

Electric Steering Rack Clicking / Rack-and-Pinion Defect — 2024-2025 High-Frequency Failure at Very Low MileageSafety2024-2025
Symptoms

clicking or popping noise from steering rack when turning wheel; loud clunking when turning at low speeds; steering sticks or resists movement above 40–65 mph; vehicle pulls to one side; steering feels loose or vague on uneven roads; noise worsens progressively; rack-and-pinion replacement required at fewer than 6,000 miles; dealer confirms factory defect; symptom recurs after rack replacement

Why it matters for your claim

A steering defect that causes the wheel to click, stick, or resist movement at highway speed constitutes a safety-related nonconformity under Song-Beverly. Owners who have had the rack replaced once and experience recurrence are particularly strong candidates: each return for the same steering symptom is a separate repair attempt. Under Cal. Civ. Code §1793.22(b)(1), two or more repair attempts for a defect 'that is likely to cause death or serious injury if the vehicle is driven' triggers a presumption of inability to repair — placing the burden on Honda to prove a reasonable number of attempts was not exceeded.

Typical fix

Honda warranty replacement of rack-and-pinion assembly. Some owners report recurrence after first replacement, requiring a second repair. No OEM TSB confirming a root-cause fix has been publicly issued as of the research date; owners should request the repair order to document the dealer's diagnosis language.

Honda Sensing CMBS Phantom Braking — Unintended Hard Braking Without Obstacle PresentSafety2023-2025
Symptoms

vehicle brakes hard with no car or obstacle in front; collision mitigation braking system activates unexpectedly; cruise control disables and car decelerates sharply when passing semi-trucks; emergency brake activates automatically with no input; warning lights accompanying phantom stop; near rear-end collision caused by false braking; dealer finds no error codes after event; cannot duplicate reported at dealership

Why it matters for your claim

Phantom braking at highway speed constitutes a safety-related nonconformity: the vehicle applies full brake force without driver input, creating an immediate risk of a rear-end collision. California's Song-Beverly Act does not require the dealer to observe the defect firsthand — the owner's documented complaint history suffices if the pattern is consistent. Owners who return for phantom braking multiple times and receive 'cannot duplicate' repair orders should retain every such repair order, as each visit counts as an attempt. Two or more documented attempts for a safety-related ADAS defect may be sufficient under Cal. Civ. Code §1793.22(b)(1) to trigger the statutory lemon-law presumption.

Typical fix

Honda Sensing ADAS software calibration update or camera/radar sensor realignment. Owners report dealers clear codes but cannot reproduce the event; those owners should document the symptom on each repair order and capture dashcam or passenger video evidence to establish the non-duplication pattern.

Google Built-In Infotainment Freeze / Apple CarPlay Connectivity Drops — 2023-2025 Touchscreen System DefectFunctional2023-2025
Symptoms

touchscreen goes blank mid-drive; infotainment display freezes and becomes unresponsive; Apple CarPlay disconnects and fails to reconnect without restart; Android Auto switches unexpectedly between devices; Bluetooth phone pairing requires repeated attempts; backup camera pixelated or blank at night; Google Assistant conflicts with CarPlay when both connected; screen requires engine restart to recover; wireless CarPlay drops connection intermittently

Why it matters for your claim

An infotainment defect that renders the backup camera inoperative or causes the display to blank while driving impairs vehicle safety and may qualify as a nonconformity under Song-Beverly. A blank or frozen screen also disables the Honda Sensing display and driver-assist status indicators. Owners who have returned to the dealer for the same infotainment freeze, backup camera failure, or CarPlay drop pattern on three or more occasions during the warranty period may have a viable Song-Beverly claim, particularly if the dealer has applied software updates that fail to provide a lasting remedy.

Typical fix

Honda infotainment software update via dealer or over-the-air (OTA) update. Some owners report CarPlay drops resolved after wireless adapter firmware updates. Screen freeze may require full head-unit reset or module replacement if software updates do not resolve the issue.

12V Auxiliary Battery Drain / Failure — Hybrid Electrical Cascade Causing Loss of Acceleration and Warning LightsSafety2023-2025
Symptoms

all dashboard warning lights illuminate simultaneously during rain; loss of acceleration after electrical system warnings; vehicle will not accelerate when all warning lights on; car requires restart to regain drive power; 12V battery dies while vehicle is parked; ignition control module (ICM) on national backorder after failure; dealer applies software update but symptom recurs; multiple warnings including brake, powertrain, ADAS activate together

Why it matters for your claim

Loss of drive power caused by a 12V electrical cascade is a safety-related nonconformity that substantially impairs the vehicle's use and safety. Under Song-Beverly, an owner who has been without their vehicle for a cumulative 30 or more calendar days during the warranty period for warranty-related repairs — including waiting for backordered ICM modules — may qualify for a buyback based on out-of-service days alone, independent of the number of repair attempts. Owners should document tow-truck receipts, rental car authorizations, and the dealer's parts-backorder notifications as part of their record.

Typical fix

12V auxiliary battery replacement under warranty; ICM module replacement if module damaged by voltage sag. Some cases resolved with software update reducing parasitic draw; others require physical battery and module replacement. National backorder on ICM modules (2024 model) has extended repair times.

Regenerative Brake Inconsistency — Grabby Regen Engagement and Abrupt Deceleration in Sport / Paddle-Shift ModeDrivability/Reliability2023-2025
Symptoms

brakes feel grabby or jerky during light deceleration; vehicle decelerates abruptly when lifting off accelerator; regen deceleration rate feels unpredictable; abrupt stop at low speed with accelerator depressed; brake lights activate under slightest deceleration during cruise control; sharp deceleration when switching regen paddle levels; brake feel inconsistent between EV and hybrid modes; rear-end collision risk from unexpected decel

Why it matters for your claim

Abrupt, unpredictable deceleration from regenerative braking — particularly if it occurs with the accelerator depressed or causes brake lights to activate without driver braking intent — constitutes a safety-related nonconformity under Song-Beverly. Owners dismissed with a 'normal hybrid operation' response should insist on a written repair order documenting the symptom and the dealer's response. If the issue is not corrected and the owner has multiple dealer visits, the pattern satisfies Song-Beverly's reasonable-number-of-attempts standard.

Typical fix

PCM/brake actuator software calibration update. No OEM TSB specifically addressing regen brake grabbiness has been publicly issued; dealers may characterize the behavior as within design specification. Owners should document the specific conditions (speed, mode, paddle position) on each repair order.

Your rights in California

The Song-Beverly Act protects you

California's Song-Beverly Consumer Warranty Act (Cal. Civ. Code §§1790-1795.8) gives 2023-2025 Honda Accord Hybrid owners enforceable rights when their vehicle cannot be repaired after a reasonable number of attempts.

For safety-related defects — including the ICM power-loss (iss-06), CMBS phantom braking (iss-11), steering rack failure (iss-10), and fuel pump leak (iss-04) — Cal. Civ. Code §1793.22(b)(1) creates a presumption of failure to repair after two or fewer attempts. You do not need a third visit to start a claim.

For other defects, §1793.22(b)(2) applies: four or more repair attempts for the same defect within 18 months or 18,000 miles, or a cumulative 30 or more calendar days out of service. Owners who waited weeks for backordered fuel pumps or ICM modules should count those waiting days carefully.

A successful Song-Beverly claim requires Honda to offer a full replacement or a cash buyback equal to the contract price — including down payment and payments made — minus a statutory usage offset. Honda must also pay your attorney's fees if you prevail, meaning qualified owners can pursue a claim at no out-of-pocket legal cost.

This is general legal information only. No attorney-client relationship is formed. California law as of the date of this publication.

Do this

If the dealer says they can't duplicate it

“Could not duplicate” doesn't mean the defect isn't real. Here's exactly what to do to protect a potential California lemon-law claim.

  1. 1

Document the moment it happens. Photos, video, and screenshots of any warning lights — with the date and the mileage.

  2. 2

Get a repair order every visit — even “found nothing.” That paperwork is the foundation of a claim.

  3. 3

Check your VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls. Note any recall that has no available remedy yet.

  4. 4

Track your out-of-service days. California law counts the cumulative days your vehicle spends in the shop.

  5. 5

Keep loaner & rental records. Alternate-transport paperwork during long repairs matters.

  6. 6

Save everything in one place. Symptoms, dates, repair orders, and every repeat visit — the intermittent ones especially.

For your Honda Accord Hybrid specifically

The Accord Hybrid's most dangerous defects — ICM CPU reset (iss-06), steering rack failure (iss-10), CMBS phantom braking (iss-11) — are intermittent events dealers frequently cannot reproduce. Here is what to do when you hear 'we found nothing.'

1. Demand a written repair order every time. A repair order reading 'customer states loss of acceleration, brake warning lights — performed PCM update per SB 25-017, no fault confirmed' is a repair attempt under Song-Beverly even if the tech never saw the event firsthand. Never accept a verbal dismissal.

2. Document the event immediately. After any ICM reset or phantom brake event, note the time, location, speed, traffic conditions, and weather. Preserve dashcam footage before it overwrites. Photograph the dashboard before restarting — the combination of simultaneous warnings (brake, powertrain, LKAS) is diagnostic information that a restart clears permanently.

3. For steering rack clicking: walk the technician to the car in the service lane and perform the turning maneuver yourself before handing over the keys. Ask the tech to note the result on the repair order.

4. Track out-of-service days. Song-Beverly provides an independent buyback trigger at 30 or more cumulative calendar days out of service for warranty repairs — including waiting for backordered ICM modules or fuel pumps. Save every loaner authorization and every dealer communication that says 'parts not yet available.'

5. Escalate to Honda Customer Relations at 1-888-234-2138. Open a case and document the case number on your next repair order to create a corporate-level knowledge record separate from the dealer's system.

Our take

Eight recalls in fewer than three years — including a full-fleet ICM software recall covering every 2023-2025 unit ever built — is an unusual burden for a sedan from a manufacturer with Honda's reliability reputation. The steering rack pattern on 2024 models is particularly notable: 21 NHTSA complaints at very low mileage, multiple rack replacements with recurrence, no OEM TSB as of this writing. The e:HEV powertrain is genuinely refined in normal operation, and the fuel economy numbers are real. But the warranty repair record matters more than the window sticker when you are evaluating whether your car qualifies for a buyback. If the ICM recall has been applied and your steering is quiet, the Accord Hybrid is a competitive choice. If either of those conditions has not been met, your dealer relationship will define your ownership experience — and your repair orders will tell the story.

Why did all my 2023-2025 Honda Accord Hybrid warning lights come on and the car lose power while driving?

The most likely cause is the Integrated Control Module (ICM) CPU reset defect addressed by NHTSA Recall 25V785000. When the ICM CPU resets unexpectedly, the Accord Hybrid loses all drive power and illuminates multiple dashboard warnings simultaneously — brake, powertrain, lane-departure, and ADAS lights together. The car may recover after restarting but the defect can recur. Honda issued PCM Service Bulletin 25-017 as an interim fix in early 2025, then escalated to a full recall in November 2025 covering all 2023-2025 Accord Hybrid vehicles. If you experienced this event before the recall was applied, your dealer visits for that symptom count as repair attempts under California's Song-Beverly Act. Bring your vehicle to a Honda dealer immediately and ask whether the ICM recall software has been applied to your VIN.

Why is my 2024 Honda Accord Hybrid steering wheel making a clicking or popping noise when I turn?

The 2024 Honda Accord Hybrid has an unusually high number of NHTSA complaints — 21 in the STEERING category alone — describing clicking, popping, and clunking from the rack-and-pinion assembly. Multiple owners report the noise starting within the first 380 to 6,000 miles and continuing after Honda replaced the steering rack under warranty. One owner (NHTSA ODI 11638199) logged over 20 service visits for the same steering rack defect that kept recurring after replacement. Dealers in several cases confirmed the condition as a factory defect. Honda has not issued a public TSB identifying a root-cause fix as of this publication. If your steering rack has been replaced and the clicking returned, you have documented a repeat repair pattern for a safety-related component — which is relevant to a California lemon-law claim.

My Honda Accord Hybrid brakes hard by itself with nothing in front of me — is this a recall or defect?

What you're describing is a known owner-reported pattern called phantom braking or false CMBS activation in the 2023-2025 Honda Accord Hybrid. The Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS) — part of Honda Sensing — can apply full braking force when it falsely detects an obstacle. Owners report this happening most frequently when passing large trucks on the highway, and the event can cause near rear-end collisions or injury. NHTSA has received multiple complaints for this issue across all three model years (2023: ODI 11588923, 11628387; 2024: ODI 11611206; 2025: ODI 11690309), but no recall has been issued as of this writing. Dealers often return the vehicle with 'cannot duplicate' noted on the repair order. Photograph the dashboard after any phantom-brake event before restarting the engine, and keep dashcam footage if available — these strengthen your warranty repair record. If this has happened multiple times, each dealer visit counts as a repair attempt under California's Song-Beverly Act.

Why does my Honda Accord Hybrid shake or vibrate when the gas engine turns on?

The shaking you feel when the LFB1 2.0-liter Atkinson gas engine engages from electric-only mode is one of the most commonly reported drivability complaints for the 2023-2025 Accord Hybrid. Owners describe the vibration as violent, jarring, or feeling like the car was struck from behind — particularly at idle, on inclines, or when the engine is called in hard under acceleration in Sport mode. NHTSA complaint ODI 11614769 (2024, 1,100 miles) and ODI 11666852 (2024) both document the engine shaking when transitioning from electric to gas power. Dealers often characterize this as 'normal hybrid operation,' but the severity described in multiple complaints goes beyond expected NVH. The PCM software update issued under Recall 25V785000 addresses the ICM CPU reset that can worsen this behavior. If your dealer has said the shaking is normal and you have returned for the same complaint three or more times, document each visit and consider requesting a California lemon-law evaluation.

Is the 2023 Honda Accord Hybrid a lemon if the screen keeps freezing and CarPlay keeps disconnecting?

Whether your specific Accord Hybrid qualifies as a lemon under California law depends on your repair history — but repeated infotainment failures are a documented issue for this model. Consumer Reports identifies in-car electronics as the top owner-reported problem category for the 2023 Accord Hybrid, with Apple CarPlay connectivity failures, blank/frozen screens, and Android Auto switching problems most frequently cited. NHTSA complaint ODI 11663271 (2023) documents screen flickering and backup camera malfunction together. The touchscreen system uses Google Built-In (Android Automotive OS) and requires cellular data to function fully — a structural limitation flagged by Cars.com's expert review. If your screen has blanked or frozen on three or more separate dealer visits without a lasting repair, you may have a Song-Beverly claim. A frozen screen that disables the backup camera is a safety impairment, not just an inconvenience.

How many Honda Accord Hybrid recalls are there for 2023-2025 and which one is most serious?

The 2023-2025 Honda Accord Hybrid has eight NHTSA recalls. The most serious is Recall 25V785000 (November 2025): the Integrated Control Module CPU can reset while driving and cut all drive power — a defect that affects every 2023, 2024, and 2025 Accord Hybrid ever built. Honda's remedy is a software reprogram of the ICM CPU applied at no charge at any Honda dealership. The second most consequential is Recall 24V763000: the high-pressure fuel pump can crack and leak fuel, creating a fire risk; this recall is still in progress with some owners waiting extended periods for parts. Additional recalls cover seat belt pretensioner rivets (23V782000), the e-CVT transmission (23V588000), and two separate driver's seat cushion frame campaigns (24V859000 and 26V054000). If you own a 2023-2025 Accord Hybrid, check your VIN at NHTSA.gov to confirm which recalls have been completed on your vehicle — and if the ICM recall has not been applied, contact your Honda dealer immediately.
