How to read these

What the numbers mean

Statutory refund

The figure the Song-Beverly Act’s own formula produces: your purchase price back, less a mileage offset for the miles you drove before the first repair attempt.

Civil penalties

Up to two times your actual damages, available when the manufacturer’s failure to repurchase was willful. This is where a case is usually won or lost.

Days out of service

California may presume your vehicle is a lemon once it has been out of service for 30 days or more during the presumption period. Every visit counts.

Attorney fees

Paid by the manufacturer in every case shown here. Our clients paid nothing out of pocket, and the recovery figures above are what they actually kept.
